 Ashley Newton is a chemical engineer, business operations leader, and community volunteer who has spent the past 17 years solving complex problems, leading teams, and making decisions that balance long-term planning with fiscal responsibility. Throughout her career, she has led large production and business operations, managed capital improvement programs totaling more than $50 million, and built a reputation for thoughtful, accountable leadership.

Ashley serves on the Johnson City Public Library Board and is an active member of the Washington County community. She and her husband are raising their two young children in District 15, giving her a personal stake in protecting the quality of life that makes Washington County such a special place to live. She understands the importance of safe neighborhoods, strong public services, responsible growth, and preserving the community her children will one day call home.

Ashley is running for County Commission because she believes local government should be transparent, fiscally responsible, and focused on serving residents. She will bring a practical, common-sense approach to county government—listening first, making thoughtful decisions, and always putting the interests of Washington County residents first.
